To all our valued customers, Ole Time Barbecue is currently undergoing repairs due to storm damage from the ice storm on January 22, 2016 that hit our area. We sustained damage due to a vehicle losing control on black ice on Hillsborough Street, January 23, 2016. It unfortunately took out our electric and water service. We are currently working on repairing, and taking an opportunity to clean and refresh our store while the contractors repair the building. Keep an eye on our facebook page and right here for further updates on progress. We apologize for the inconvenience to you, and really can not wait to get back to work serving our community.
It all started when I was a young child helping my grandpa cook BBQ. My grandpa, "Quillie" Gray of Snow Hill, NC was pretty well known for his barbecue. Growing up with grandpa I learned that time and patience are the first ingredients for good barbecue.
Grandpa Quillie and I talked of one day opening our own barbecue house.
Unfortunately, grandpa passed away before this ever happened. Opening Ole Time Barbecue became a quest for me. After several years of banks telling me no, I was in the right place at the right time. Ole Time Barbecue opened May 10, 1993 and we still love it to this day.
We have worked hard to keep Grandpa's Ole Time traditions in our food and service. Thank you for helping to make a dream come true.
We have recently been rated one of the Top Ten Barbecue Restaurants in the state of North Carolina and have been nominated as one of Citysearch's ‘Best of’ Nominee
